SubCategories v0.4

  • New Tags:
    • MTHasNoSubCategories: the opposite of MTHasSubCategories
    • MTHasNoParentCategory: the opposite of MTHasParentCategory
    • MTTopLevelCategories: a container tag that acts just like MTSubCategories, except that it will always start at the top category level, instead of the current category if there is one
  • New Attributes:
    • MTSubCategories (and MTTopLevelCategories) : sort_order: set to 'descend' to sort the categories in reverse order

Is there any way to sort the subcategories by modified_on? Currently it sorts alphabetically.

Is there any way to get documentation for v 0.4? I'm not getting a clear picture by flitting between the postings for the various versions. Any chance?

Good question!

If you could provide some examples for different configurations that would be great!

Is it possible to use so for parent categories it will count all entries that are submitted in the combined sub-categories? It's showing up a 0 for each parent category even though there's say 20 entries in all of it's sub-categories.

I installed Subcategories, created a number of categories and subcategories, then deleted one of the subcategories.

I then tried to rebuild the site and got this error: "An error occurred: Can't call method "label" on an undefined value at plugins/sub_cats.pl line 45. "

From other comments it looks like I would have to modify the database. I'm still using DB not SQL, so I'm not sure of how to do it.

Otherwise, can I just delete the plugin and start over somehow?

Dido on the error message, mine is similar to Nathan's.

"Can't call method "label" without a package or object reference at plugins/sub_cats.pl line 71."

I assigned 5 subcategories to E that should have been assigned to F, I haven't deleted any subcategories, however, I did re-set the parent to F. Is this what caused it? And how on earth do I fix it without deleting the entire thing again?

I installed and assignet Subcategories (4) and subcategories. Everithink was Ok, 'till I've deleted some subcategories. all efforts were in vain, so I get this "An error occurred: Can't call method "label" on an undefined value at plugins/sub_cats.pl line..."

Any idea?

please let me show answers. I installed SubCategories plugin. Then I think it perfectly finished.but individual and database archive can't show me like MainIndex.I don't know sources must be written.

I'm getting the same error message:

"Can't call method "label" without a package or object reference at plugins/sub_cats.pl line 71."

Happened after I deleted a couple of sub-categories. Can no longer do any updates or changes. Is there a fix to get back up and running short of removing the plugin?

when I access to mt-sc.cgi and arrange categories and push "Set" button, always My Web Browser says "Error saving MT::PluginData";

I use Postgres as my Database.

And one more person using Postgres-MT have the same problem.

That has something with this problem?

Any solution or help, please. Thank you.

Hi,

subcategories is a extremly great tool. Simple yet effective.

I have one question, I'm looking to import the relation information (what is parent) from an external application/db. How are these relations stored and how can I access them in an appropriate manner?

I would be very happy about a reply! Thanks in advance!

Best, Torsten
